“Sometimes I’m bad, sometimes I’m good, sometimes I’m sad, sometimes I’m happy. Jesus loves me and forgives me all the time. He died for us on the cross.”

To a seasoned Christian, that may not seem like a stirring confession of faith. But really it is! It came from Bailey, a kindergartener at our Lutheran elementary school. Bailey came to our preschool a couple years ago. His parents had some Christian background, but weren’t connected to any church at the time. Bit by bit, through the faithful witness and encouragement of our preschool staff, they started getting more involved. When financial concerns threatened to force them to take Bailey out of school, The Solid Education Foundation was there to provide needed financial assistance. Early last year, Bailey and his newborn twin brother and sister were baptized. Several months later, Bailey enrolled in our kindergarten, again with the help of The Solid Education Foundation. At our school he has learned to look to Jesus as he’s struggled with hardships—and there are some real ones—in his life. And just a few weeks ago, Bailey’s mom and step dad completed Bible instruction and became members of our church.

Your gifts to The Solid Education Foundation played an integral part in reaching this family with the good news about Jesus. Your gifts played a part in Bailey’s simple confession of faith. Your gifts will continue to play a part in his and many other stories of growth in Christ. Every life of faith begins with a solid foundation, which is Jesus. What a privilege to help others build on him through Christ-centered education!
